Draft 2
For my second draft, I decided to go with the story that my teacher, Mrs. Kopp, helped me come up with. In the story, I am not the main character. I feel as though I can do more with the character if I am not imagining her as being me. For my story, the main character, Lindsay, is a phone obsessed college girl who does not like to go out unless she is tanning at the beach or by the pool. Her two roommates, Stella and Carly, want nothing more than for her to experience the beauty of nature and go apple picking with them. After much convincing, Lindsay Finally agrees to go with them.
They go on a Sunday afternoon and the whole way there, nothing seems to go their way. First, they stop for coffee on the way and it spills all over Lindsay, ruining her hoodie. Luckily, she had another one in her back seat. Next, they get to the apple picking farm and they are told that apple picking doesn't start till the next week. Every other farm was closed o Sundays, but on a mission to prove to Lindsay that it is fun to be outdoors, they travel to a farm in Pennsylvania. As they got closer and closer, their cell phone signals started to fade. After about an hour of driving, they finally arrived and it was open. Everyone there were dressed in Amish clothing, and they realized that they had gone to an Amish apple picking farm. None of the girls thought anything of it and got out of their car to the apple trees. They all having a great time, joking around and laughing together. Lindsay even puts away her phone. After a few hours they decide it's time to head back home. Lindsay decides that she wants to take a picture to remember the awesome day they had. She takes out her phone from her back pocket of her jeans. They pose together with big smiles on their faces when all of a sudden, they get tapped on the shoulder. It was an Amish police officer, who did not look happy. Apparently, it was the number one rule that no pictures could be taken on the farm. Lindsay's phone was confiscated and they were taken to Amish jail. However, Amish jail is not the same as regular jail. In Amish jail, they make you do work, such as work on the farm, take care of animals, clean and other activities such as that.
How will the three of them escape? Will they even want to escape? Stay tuned to find out!
